Everybody is very curious to know who voted for TMC. And pat comes the answer is he or she who didn’t want to vote BJP. Then comes the next question  with its foot note that TMC is not at all a team to adore or adulate in least case approve to run a state . A bunch of very naïve politicians with some star connect TMC never thrives on any so called ideology which feeds(and fails also) its engine. Neither right nor left , neither center , TMC is a summation of just so many slogans and very crude rhetoric of Mamata Banerjee its one woman Supremo. Every issue of TMC rise from her and ends there. She is the epitome of so many contrarian things very unpretending , uninhibited with no holds barred. She claims to be least sophisticated when takes the dais to lambast the opponents , she never hides her lacking of any big skill when she takes the pen or brushes the canvas. The Bengali culture , art , literature  for which she is too passionate to allow any outsider (and rightly so) from different state or cult. So Mamata Banrejee is TMC and TMC is she  and the  people of Bengal voted for her as she is the only option to resist the otherwise highly arrogant , audacious BJP who never goes by what they have done , but what they have tried to do . Last few years of their tenure are about redemption of this truth that good intention hardly work if not planned and executed with best intellect. A the party and its top honchos being always in a campaign mode to get vote, they always appears to be too busy with election and earning people’s mandate round the year to pay least attention to perform what they promise in their manifesto. Being intellectually bankrupt,and technically very unsound whether in science ,economy , technology they over the last few years just picked the mastery in electioneering , how to earn vote by every trick which may include deep and layered and reverse polarization , social stratification, horse trading , anti propaganda all at core with its upper crust coated with thick development agenda normally an illusion if not pure bred imagination of its bunch of executive running the nation. Never had any designer’s thinking capacity , top leaders believe in execution straightway without any backing of well thought plan, strategy or risk assessment. And every noble or great mission just stumbles surely unintended but never unexpected as per poverty of knowledge capital of this incumbent Govt is concerned .The demonetization , tax simplification ie GST, drive for deep indigenization or manufacturing with its embedded skill development , digitalization , revoking of article 370 , protracted lockdown to manage covid crisis or national inoculation drive all are high profile , big ticket or all pervasive reform poised to change the social, economic or immunity landscape of the nation and its people but backed by very poor strategy , execution plan or scenario planning.  

Claiming success on Swacchbharat , Universal Gas connection with a string of the popular schemes for village , farmer , woman or marginalized already tested and tried and being run in different forms in different states by engaging public resources are easier for any Govt than to set path or blueprint of innovation or invention for  Green energy ,AI, Medicine , Science such other the next generation reforms. The sanitation or water supply drive will surely attract eyeball while presenting very low hanging fruit of some example of extreme coordination at national level but revamping health care , investing in renewable energy , organizing best supply chain, robust distribution system for any national drive like vaccination needs intense thinking power, visioning power and equally designing power which the leadership at center simply lacks.

The surprising part of the whole election is that , how the master election strategist of BJP Mr Amit Shah just missed the basic meaning of the word strategy which defines itself continuously malleable outline befitting with the situation , site, and psyche of the place not just keep repeating the same bunch of methods(however tried and tested anywhere) everywhere with an expectation that incumbents will behave in same manner everywhere . Specially in a country like India , the cultural ethos, sense of pride, egoism and things of obsessions varies hugely with caste ,clan, cult and geography. What UP people could have spilled , the Southern clan will not allow at all. What Pandey, Tiwari or Thakur felt relevant , the Chatterjee, Mukherjee , Banik or Maitra , these Bengali clan simply feel repugnant to even think. So the basic lines of polarization across the line of religion or in its layered innovation further dividing across the caste line down the lane , just could get very few takers apart from its committed soldiers.

And it is just more surprising that even after fully activating its highly acclaimed antipropaganda  machinery where it was projected different picture at different time to influence the voters the yield is poor in every count. Sometimes declaring the winning number is already presumed waiting for its formal counting, sometime exposing some private conversation with its unvalidated content to public who could be anyone even the CM , BJP left no leaf unturned to entice the voters and embarrass the opponent at any cost. There is the chance that the whole hype created about their win and taking to the crown was amazingly subtle to create a cobweb of lies to touch and tie everybody who matters for their win, the electorate, election commission or election officials. Again there is the chance that whole top echelon just could not touch the raw chord of Bengali clan ( yet misguided by the state leadership) who are not only reluctant to allow the BJP’s rightist ideology to get seeded in Bengal soil but also intensely repulsive with any such intension which the party and leadership overtly and covertly expressed so many times .

So surely not to get stuck between today’s cajoling and tomorrow’s coercing , the Bengali Clan on the whole just could not trust BJP with its lost credential ,outrightly rejected them and voted for Mamata Banerjee as always less damaging option left before them. It is whether for the overconfidence or misjudgment or just manipulative publicity to create hype which drowns BJP hardly matters for the Bengal and its Bengali clan who are fiercely obsessive about their self rightist stand as always.

While the whole World in general and the country like India particular are nearing to only certain ultimate soln against this contagion ie herd immunity, don’t you think the whole economic cost being incurred now for the  national pause will be fast converted into sunk cost.

The fact remains that the northern hemisphere can afford it but not the southern one.

 What we   had comparative advantage like younger population and warmer climate could have  used to grow the antibodies inside stratified layers of demography ( somewhere caution somewhere trust) rather than moving towards a wholesale  copybook  solution(read it pretext to solution) borrowed from west of lockdown which apparently has no exit route.

Did the corona give lee way to the autocrats ?

The corona contagion  and the unique conundrum  around it gave a very fresh lease  to the power grabber autocrat to suppress the fact(even the infection statistics  or so also  strategy of health care against it) , to reinforce their rule  being bestowed  the supreme power to decide  in such time of national crisis by the law of land where the opposition  gets literally pigeonholed or the  media which are just forced into embedded journalism publishing with Govt directives rather than free press. Lastly they just find their easy surrogate of political overtone under the apparent statesmanship. This type of eventuality just gives the unique chance to the  otherwise paranoid, perplexed  today’s citizen who surely be tomorrow’s electorate  to forget and forgive the other discredit or decadence of their Chief’s  past rule. And this opportunity just have so much leverage getting further extended as the confusion of any forthcoming solution simply lingers. Under the garb of quarantine , lock down , national pause  etc the democracy , the rights and privilege all these  just took the back seat while personal agenda, political undertone (even political vendetta to imprison for breaking the rule) etc prevails as the whole world keep engaged with the battle with invisible and uncertain.

The issue of the day is how market will behave after the lockdown whether it gets revoked straight way or staggered way. In one side the sudden lockdown for one and half month just put the producer specially apart from essential goods with huge inventory trap which have been too overbearing to carry on any more so big discount , stock clearance and so also supply surplus is in the waiting. In other way huge slump of economy , overshooting ,unemployment, bottomed out liquidity all will  dent a big hole in purchasing power so complete downward spiral is just breathing on every country’s (so the corporate’s)shoulder. A third angle is that due to national pause there is complete impasse in manufacturing , service and all allied jobs so  there is chance that huge supply problem will be created as any company in such start-stop rhythm(only certain module existing these days of uncertainty) of economy  needs so many months to come to its full productivity. The whole problem of production and also productivity will be hampered due to restricted , regulated supply of labour(some went home , some allowed with fix numbers).And the list of variables(some tested some untested) keep increasing .

So being trapped under such divergent pull how market will behave post lockdown period?

In climate issue we see lock down is bliss in disguise . The nature is recharging itself after a long time. 

The bigger picture what we are missing that till the other day every  congregation , covenant , conference on climate kept on coming to an unanimity in thinking , there is no such market mechanism(promote some and proscribe other) like carbon credit or state mechanism (taxing you material which contains ) too proven to itself to be monitored, as in aggregate the waste gas never falls short. Recently all the upcoming nations in the name of developing and underdeveloped just got too reluctant to trade of their growth(rate and real both) with the climate by measures like alternate but costlier energy than coal burnt power etc with its excuse that developed reached its state today by doing just what developing are doing now growth buoyed  on  giga gallon of waste gas. So the argument  kept continuing from Doha to Uruguay to Copenhagen to Paris to Morocco and minds gets changed , measures  not  cared dragging the earth in the spiral of climate  got sucked , celsius got soared  ,  disease  got spread. And somebody’s action is always offset by other’s inaction. 

But the corona virus just leave no space of discontent. It made everyday suffers irrespective of developed , developing , pretentious and pure heart , rich and poor or south and north. All came to standstill , all got its own pause . All are too coiled in uncertainty to burn the  fossil fuel beyond the bare minimum , all stopped ravaging the earth at the name of development .

 And we are in regression mode in civilisation and so also climate.The whole world is getting cooled  and nourished back to its past, refreshed. It is the first time in human civilisation just a microbe , an invisible organism , a worm not any war  brought the burning of fossil fuel  to its lowest level.

The time was never been more right . Blame it on Covid Crisis, Indian economics toeing the global economical cataclysm  nosedived so much eroding the wealth created for last four decades (assume the USA rise till 80s then   Singapore , South Korea  , China then others ). 

For India in these days (PreCorona and Post reform)along with its economy , democracy got further matured and so also stiff resistance to big ticket reform , like changing labour law, revoking coal nationalisation , merging banking and opening up private participation in all those  sectors which were either losing or  profiting at suboptimal level.In our parliamentary democracy where local leaders’ agendas always triumph over the national interest , every bold step forward got two steps backward , the phenomenon where even majoritarian Govt also could not help. And nobody could escape its ultra protectionist approach to market in the garb of patriotism and nationalism , even not the party which backs this Govt these days.

Corona suddenly upended the situation and presented some rarest of the rare scope to push forward all those reform overdue  for so long and that also at one go. And this time without any any single resistance as sloganeering mind and agitating lips all are kept shut under the confinement of lockdown. In the crisis time only voice gets heard and which is of the supreme leader or the head of the state and nobody else.

So time is ripe to repeal nationalisation act of coal, reform labour laws to induce the agility as well as mobility  and so on.

Yesterday you saw UP and other reformed the labour laws, today GoI pushed for freeing coal market (produce and sell for Pvt) allowing 500 players!  You saw MSMEs are  being geared  up with soft loans and strong support to flourish . Not to forget , Chinese  Corona Conundrum  just trafficked the big multinationals shifting their base towards India And the list  is just getting longer.

So fasten your sit belt  and embrace for New India which may be not same as before  but surely not always poorer in every count be  rest assured.

 They never be Us nor We ever want to be Them

 
It’s a common fallacy , the  man in  the chair specially in the political arena confuse with power of chair and the process of ascending to that chair. These confusions get multiplied when they just could not find the enough bold line drawn between the chair by politics and chair by constitution. One is legislative and another is executive. Either we should be very alert to the clear cut exclusivity  of the this apparently transcending position(from legislative post to executive one) or just never aspire for such dual post anyway which got its huge potentially enough harmful both for the party and post and so also its prospect anyway. 

Then why such difference between two processes and  so the people who are gets  to the position from such two different processes. To begin with when a bureaucrat or a technocrat gets selected she or he gets by virtue of his or her worth , credential , past experiences and expertise developed. His or her qualification and quality both matters to make him eligible for the job. The interview takes from few hours to days long supported with recommendation if needed . Every selection is with a purpose and the output of backend planning for some goals to be achieved which is retrofitted in the interview or credential check of the incumbent rather than recruiting him or her randomly. 

Just opposite happens in the election process which is more cult based rather than quality dependent and that too also keep changing with the party, ideology, personality , issues etc. Neither the underlying qualification be judged of the people who asks for election (or stand in husting) nor his worth , past experience or exposure to particular issue are under the scanner before stamping on his symbol. At best the instant oratory or impromptu on the subjects mostly criticizing the opponent rather than correcting their own and in rarest occasion communicating on solution or ideas proposed if given chance, all these names in election fray just keep playing to gallery all along. Some self  glorifying agenda by either miming the other sides’ narrative  by force or fear , some well rehearsed and top quoted diatribe to captivate the humor  of the audience rather than their heed  or attention , these leaders on dais are more obsessed with style of communication rather than substance to connect or cater solution to the people. And the election process also never demands his credential as any legislative member which is itself very broadly or vaguely defined with main focus of eligibility rather than his or her eloquence  on any issue so also expertise or efficacy  to solve it. So  he gets  elected more on experimental basis  and less on expertness by the electorate  mostly out of repulsion to other alternate and very least on resume of the candidate. You never see any antecedent of the candidate, you never ask a single question (which will not be  fielded  neither fixed by ) , you just elect him as to give a chance as you give to any of those uncertain tour or unchartered territory to try with . Your individual risk here is very low (although collective or institutional risk is too high) as you are not personally invested to elect that person where the only diligence you do is stand in the line and cast your vote . Even most of the time you simply never do your due diligence to choose the best one or compare the man you are going to vote for , with others in the fray, at least with any intense rationalization . In any case if you would have done your part of fact check , there are very little chance  that the best candidate will win the seat.  

And with all these blurred credential, the man with the mike keep promising the moon without even understanding the moon is either planet or star. And while promises and pledges obeys no bound before the count of ballots, it all simply and very succinctly disappear and die out once he wins. An elected member , as he is he just keep breaking all those promises  in the same pace as he built up thanks his complete nativity to execute or plan any thing which  technically or economically too complex(and the running a country is just that) for him to even appreciate it. In a constant denial or consistently distracting the issues , a legislator turned executive(whom we tell minister)  just keep rearing an illusion for himself  or herself  with an false notion that everybody , the people who elected him and  the other who did not vote for him/her all are too idiot to understand his ignorance ,  naivety and laggardness or lack of knowledge to tackle any issue upfront. 

While like the king without any cloths whom nobody dares to tell the truth that he is naked , the man there just got too exposed to everybody who simply gives a damn to what these elected figure makes or breaks. Irony is that while Selected numbers moves with responsibility and role s/he is bestowed with , the Elected one just does opposite , disowning and defying every thing he fails to appreciate , the nation , its  embedded guiding force ie  Constitution , its economy , its development everything which needs the technical insightfulness not any rhetoric or regressive dialogue.

A project once takes off could hardly be said failure or success in absolute sense as it defines (and redefines when needed) its narratives which are always function of three things which are time (which speaks of milestones on its timeline)cost(the efficiency , innovation ) and deliverable(quality, scale of achievement etc ). And the best part of any project is that at every point of time it gets its conclusion according to its milestones set. The smart project never gets frozen or gets sacrosanct once taken or set forth as it happens in any traditional project management rather it moves from automation to autonomous in its stage of criticality which could be best showcased by our Vikram’s ambitious voyage to moon. 

While ISRO’s precision of project management rightly be the best case study (even in the world benchmark)of near cent percent accuracy in every project it takes indisputably be best coordinated with least cost , best deliverable and on most accurate timeline, we wish the GoI takes a cue from its success stories while it does its own calculation or calibration of time , deliverable and cost of economy while it designed its project called “demonitisation” , “abrogation of article 370 the instrument of accession of Kashmir “ or by latest “NRC , Assam”. While in one deliverable (the black money expected to be blocked not back to economy) just ended with damp squib , in the other it created its own entrapment with no exit route in sight to get out of the over militarized zone called Kashmir in near future. In the latest one of Assam Census out of 4 million, 2 million are just put in suspended animation on their future citizenship with a long process of appellate and courts with indecision perpetuated so also their voting right and other entitlement. Added to it around 3 lakhs names had gone missing from any list(exclusion or inclusion) which means these guys in apprehension of not making to the list just went underground and resolved to stay without citizenship in the country!!!

In all these three projects showcased as achievement in first 100 days of the government the problem is not in intention(the causes for which they were proposed) but implementation (the way they were planned or performed) as with every project one exit route or scope of scenario planning is embedded which is expected to be activated once the conventional route is closed or gone barricaded. 

The Hon’ble PM’s assertion amongst ISRO scientists a couple of days ago could not be better timed when he said that he did not come to them to motivate them rather to get inspired himself by them. GoI , NITI every body must take the lesson from ISRO while unleashing the next big reform to understand how any project can never fail provided you put it in triple axis of time line precisely calibrated , cost diligently calculated and lastly deliverables clearly planned at different phases of it which need not necessarily be conclusive or christened with nomenclature as success or failure to fit or fire poll campaign as our politicians normally do.

Marijuana , Marxism and Monopoly , it is confusing sometimes amongst these three to understand which drug is most lethal?

What I discovered, Marijuana makes you hallucinate to transform everything, Marxism simply grounds that dream to reality of transformation with strong rationale and reasoning but monopoly defies that reality and tries its best to resist that transformation while highly convinced that nothing is to be changed and so the best way to live is just go to selective amnesia and indulge in laissez faire in everything

And now you certainly appreciate that only overdose of the first may near you to death, while any dose of the second will make you live longer but a normal dose of the third will surely make you living dead.

Since the constitution came in to be we have been observing how the over hyped care and concern for the marginalized and left over has created a huge  portfolio  of sops of quota , reservation, concession and exemption which have been simply doled out or dished out without any well orchestrated planning to develop them to deserve it . It is a holy grail no one , executive , legislative and even judiciary even dare to touch upon  as it always backfires(recently one such ruling by court  of atrocity act is being reversed by Govt by ordinance). But these days another burden added to the selection process specially in the top institutes which are always revered as the center of excellence where the entrance processes are being simply tainted with a good dose of arbitrariness , randomness and caprices. We observed it in 2014 when St Stephen college, one of the most revered college in DU declared its own cut off with some riders and selected a hundred to delist half of them in the next few days with a solo quote of “regret”. No explanation , no explication just a single line communiqué “ we regret the inconvenience .We observed again it in 2018 when we saw in a recent entrance of IGDIR , the board suddenly changed the numbers of reservation with introduction a new entrant  that (also after the entrance examination) and thus impacting the cut off (individual and summary both) with the new arithmetic which just caught the examinee napping in changed scenario who otherwise cleared  the threshold  taking by the judicious calls with proper hedge against risk of attempting any wrong answer loaded with negative marking. Now  again we get shocked to see another premium institute called ISI instead of taking the entrance under the same aegis, with same question and running same curriculum of courses across its different city branches went for discriminatory cut off by compelling the applicant to go for single option rather than preferential choice which is tested and rationale norm across the universe (IITs, IIMs  and so others). The very precarious situation created now where the students who after scoring higher cut off than the ISI-Kolkata , but just lower than ISI-Delhi simply gets deprived of any chance as they opted for Kolkata institute which they had to randomly (without any information to assess the risk of selecting any of two). The statistical institute suddenly forced the students to play the gamble which is simply uncalled for and unethical for any institute of education. The stake were so high that after even clearing cut off these unfortunate students (who had been forced to give undertaking for one institute of their choice) who toiled hard round the year , are feeling depressed by such ill luck. While meritocracy always respects labour rather than luck this institute just cherish the luck factor for their exam and now loves to be satisfied with a big chunk of examinee who scored less but got selected as their gamble clicked. What a crudest joke with selection process and that also from a premium institute which borrowed its reputation from the educationist like PCMahalanabish , SNBose and such others!!!

Every alternate person in the world is so upset about Brexit or Trump’s victory misses much harsher truth  and that it is  the same west which reinforced Moore’s law , reinvigorated the free market or took lead to save the mother earth by reversing the climate catastrophe voted for these new power of right(Therese May) or right plus plus(Trump) who swore to  defy and denounce everything the west achieved over the decades or century. This shows that the west got bamboozled with the smoke and mirror of the globalization they created and catered so long without really meaning it .Or else they never wanted to create it in this manner which like Frankenstein ‘s monster simply set to rule or rout them  one day. This time they are also missing another truth which will put them in further regression adding to the recession they already are facing. The new world order is undeniable and axis of coordinating it just got redefined . Gone are those days when the military , money or the muscle (veto in UN , Security council, WB, IMF etc) which ruled the roost. Now it is individual  ie the human brain,  intelligence ( read business intelligence) that excavate and exploit anything and everything out of big data and lastly idea (the crowd sourcing , opensourcing ) flowing seamlessly from the most backward nation to solve or shoot trouble of developed nation which will just redefining the globalization. Clearly rising with their rightist lineage however protectionist this new power may be about their trade or market, however xenophobic they become  with the fear of job loss or competency laggardness , however insanity they show with their sudden dragging the feet on climate control , the world already got metamorphosed with new age thinking which can hardly be reversed and rather reinvigorated by new order . With this sudden retreat or reversion on their thought process the only redemption left for them is loosing their leadership they evolved , earned and enjoyed over the years now by fast becoming mere followers of the new age thinkers (may be now from the east and far east) . The job market and so the economy , trade everything in shifted supply chain or scattered innovation and crowdsourced invention these days keep moving to comparatively advantageous nation irrespective of legacy or old linage of  wealth or well being. The money , material or manpower will populate as well as progress the nation which will shelter them not shove them out or shut the door for them out of induced fear and phobia.

Wish the west better understand it faster or it will be too late for them to come out with another brand like iphone or facebook , google or to dare to design algorithm to connect and convene with other planet much beyond our world. In fact rise of right will simply spell doom for the west shoving them in the wrong and self defeating spiral faster than they thought.

Whole corruption manifesto of BJP simply draws blank after paying election dividend with landslide win in 2014. It appears the whole investment of BJP and especially of Modi in rhetoric and oratory could have been completely sunk and non-redeemable had the election being fought now. Corruption suddenly losses its traction with latest verdict from CBI court and its impact looms large over the other resources tainted and targeted as sure winner on forthcoming hustling’s specially Parliamentary Election 2019. But in all the fiasco of losing revenues or forgone profit, the only thing if lost its sheen for sure that the corruption as a talisman for denting and damaging the opponent, the word “corruption” itself. Imagining the soft underbelly of any political party, corruption can simply play havoc if used in Indian context. In fact so many govt got toppled, yesterday’s opposition now seats in treasury bench, the example are in galore that Indian people or electorate simply buys in corruption charge very fast even without seeing whether it is just conjecture concocted with so many ifs and buts or there are any solid evidence to prove it. The judgment taken in the closed door TV panels, journalists feeds newsmonger without filtering it to prime pump the TRP rating rather than picking the truth as if truth never sells. And the people on the Dias simply took the advantages of the fiction rather than fact to amass its own support . Very strange , very disturbing indeed. It is the country where suddenly everything started getting denominated by corruption and that denominator itself gets strike out by the court , the whole equation or the function got undefined. Without taking any side the execution process can never be the precursor of any corrupt intent. Just not doing the auction which was till then non-existent, being highly hyped about the revenue losses will lead to a very grey area of accounts stuffed with imaginative figures and indicative calculation with nothing rationale and analytical. It is this territory, politicians or the so-called leaders may get incited to explore and exploit , not the career economist or serious citizens who must understand what chaff is and what is wheat.

The Indian protesters evolved in long way  over the time specially taking the cue from financial market how they deal with spot and forward deal. This speculative protest is new addition to the  portfolio of intolerance like  mob lynching , cow vigilance ,ostracising , mudslinging , ink throwing , trolling in the social network  and son on. The way Pan Indian Protesters  now all out in arms to stop screening the movie Padmabati  , the fiction written by medieval poet showcase how our men with hot head, self declared vigilant of our heritage , culture and values by burning effigy and betting bounty on heads  have come of age over the time. Neither these hardline critic saw the movie nor they reconcile the fact that the ballad was merely written to depict the chivalry  , honour of Rajputana  still these knuckle headed protesters simply are  now running amok with the blame of character assassination of the queen character in the movie who never existed in reality apart from the heart of balladeer who wrote about it. Just in anticipation that the movie might have trivialised honour of Rajputs these people crossed all lines of civics or sanity. So now onwards every one whether artist or writer , director or poet must be extra alert while engaging with their art like those financial wizard in treasury  department with speculative gut to understand what these  so called protectors of our heritage, culture are perceiving  about their art(without seeing  it at all) rather than what what these art actually be. They must take these protesters into account before creating any art form who are thrives on speculation rather than visualisation of real fact.
